Borussia Dortmund are winding down on the 2025-26 Bundesliga season as they have only four games left into the campaign.

With Bayern Munich being crowned champions, their title dreams are officially over but Die Borussen are still gunning to secure the runners-up spot and a place in next season's Champions League.

Up next for them is a penultimate home game of the league season against Freiburg, who are in seventh place of the Bundesliga table and have won their last two fixtures on the bounce.

The Breisgau-Brasilianer will be pose another challenge for the out-of-form Dortmund, whose task will be further cut without their talismanic forward, Serhou Guirassy.

According to Sky, the Guinean striker was carrying a knock even during their Hoffenheim loss in which he scored late on but it was exacerbated during the clash.

In the 84th minute, Guirassy was brought down by Ozan Kabak while attempting to clear the ball. Although the Hoffenheim defender wasn't booked for it, the Dortmund star's condition worsened.

A concussion was diagnosed after the full-time whistle and he hasn't trained with the squad ever since, raising concerns over his availability for Saturday's clash.

Guirassy is now doubtful although medical assessments will be conducted ahead of the kick-off to determine if he's fit enough to play.

Should the 30-year-old miss the game, it would indeed be a huge blow for Dortmund, who have relied on his goals a lot, especially in the second half of the season.

Although his goalscoring rate has declined compared to last season, Guirassy has still chipped in with valuable equalizers or late winners to salvage points for his team.

In their last clash too, he very nearly secured a point as the former Stuttgart hitman made it 1-1 in the 87th minute, but that was eclipsed after Dortmund conceded another penalty in stoppage-time.

Across 42 games, Guirassy has struck 19 goals and made six assists, including 14 in the Bundesliga - a tally bettered only by Harry Kane (32), Deniz Undav (18) and Luis Diaz (15).

Dortmund in panic mode after back-to-back defeats

Borussia Dortmund's home stretch of the campaign appears to have been derailed after consecutive defeats to Bayer Leverkusen and Hoffenheim.

Until two weeks ago, the BVB were cruising and on a par to set a record for most number of points by a runners-up side in the Bundesliga.

But fast-forward to this day, and the club is in a panic mode after two facile defeats. Although they still hold a healthy advantage over third and fourth sides on the table, the defeats have left a bitter tast in their mouth.
