Borussia Dortmund receive Gregor Kobel fitness boost

Gregor Kobel has seemingly recovered from his hip injury and will likely return to the Borussia Dortmund starting XI after the international break.

Borussia Dortmund had to deal with an injury crisis before the international break, as several key were players sidelined. Gregor Kobel was forced to miss three games due to a hip injury that he suffered during BVB's defeat to VfL Wolfsburg in the DFB-Pokal. But it appears that he has now been given the green light to return to action.

Gregor Kobel closing in on return to action

Despite his injury, Kobel was named in the Switzerland squad for their upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Serbia and Spain. And according to BILD, the 26 year old is all set to feature for Switzerland in the two crucial matches as they look to avoid relegation.

The news also comes as a big boost for Borussia Dortmund, who will hope to have their first-choice goalkeeper in the starting XI for their upcoming matches.

The Black and Yellows have games against SC Freiburg, Bayern Munich, and FC Barcelona coming up after the international break. And the goalkeeper will certainly be crucial to their hopes in winning those matches.

In addition to Gregor Kobel, Borussia Dortmund will also hope to welcome the likes of Waldemar Anton and Karim Adeyemi back into the squad for their home game against SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga on November 23. Among the other players on BVB's injury list are Niklas Süle and Gio Reyna. There is still uncertainty about when they might be able to return to action.
