The fixture list for the 2026-27 Bundesliga season were officially revealed by the DFL on Thursday, 2 July as Borussia Dortmund learnt their schedule for the new campaign.
Having finished second last season following a promising run, Niko Kovac's side are aiming for another sustained challenge to Bayern Munich's league crown with Dortmund currently undergoing a squad revamp.
Dortmund officially kick-start their new top-flight campaign at home to Hamburg on 29 August, just six days after the curtain-raiser against the Bavarians in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup which is also set to be played at the Signal Iduna Park.
The Der Klassiker rivals then lock horns on matchday eight, which falls on 31 October, for their first league duel of the season held at the Allianz Arena in Munich, while the return fixture in Dortmund is scheduled for 6 March 2027.
Bayern were one of the only four teams to have beaten Dortmund last season, while being the only one to get the better of them in both Bundesliga ties.
Bayer Leverkusen, the only other team to prevail at the Westfalonstadion in the 2025-26 league season, return to the stadium on the 11th matchday, scheduled for 28 November, just a week after Dortmund's daunting trip to Borussia Monchengladbach.
With Schalke gaining promotion to Bundesliga after three years, the Revierderby is set to return as Borussia Dortmund resume their historic rivalry with their Ruhr Valley neighbors. The first clash will be at the Veltins-Arena on 5 December while the return fixture is set for 10 April.
Dortmund will face their first real challenging phase of the season from 31 October to 5 December, when they play Bayern Munich, Borussia Monchengladbach, Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke in four of their five league fixtures during this period, which would also be interspersed between some UEFA Champions League fixtures.
As far as two other promoted sides are concerned, Dortmund take on Bundesliga debutants SV Elversberg on 7 November at home and will be visiting the Ursapharm-Arena on 13 March; games against Paderborn are scheduled for 12 September (h) and 6 February (a).
Borussia Dortmund's last game before the winter break will be away to RB Leipzig on 19 December before resuming their season at home against Mainz on 9 January 2027. The campaign will end on 22 May with Dortmund visiting Freiburg.
