Borussia Dortmund have been one of the most exciting teams to watch this season. Armed with boisterous young guns and skillful seasoned professionals while being led by an astute tactician, the BVB shook Europe with some electrifying displays over the last 10 months.
Niko Kovac was successful in turning the Black and Yellows into a well-oiled juggernaut, powered by a menacing attacking vanguard featuring the prolific Serhou Guirassy and supported by an obdurate backline that proved the meanest in the Bundesliga.
With the 2025-26 season now behind us, let's delve into the highest scoring games involving Die Borussen this season:
St. Pauli 3-3 Dortmund
It all began with a six-goal thriller, no less. And it had all the makings of a classic too: five yellow cards, one red card, two goals in last five minutes of normal time and Dortmund bottling a 3-1 lead. That was quite some way to start your Bundesliga season.
Dortmund 3-3 Stuttgart
When a bogey team is in town, you better expect drama. And there was a whole lot of it at the Signal Iduna Park on that day as Stuttgart once again threw a spanner in Dortmund's works.
As earlier, the BVB threw away a 2-0 lead before Karim Adeyemi seemingly won it in the 89th minute. But Deniz Undav, who had struck both the goals for Die Roten, came back to haunt them in stoppage-time to make it 3-3 and complete his hat-trick too.
Frankfurt 3-3 Dortmund
For the third time in their opening 16 games of the Bundesliga season, Dortmund were involved in a pulsating 3-3 stalemate. This one came in Frankfurt but the script was turning out to be similar: the BVB going in front and then conceding.
It happened twice at the Deutsche Bank Park before Frankfurt went 3-2 up in stoppage-time. A second top-flight defeat beckoned for Dortmund, who were ultimately bailed out by Carney Chukwuemeka in the closing seconds.
Copenhagen 2-4 Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund were involved in some high octane clashes in the Champions League too and just like in the Bundesliga, relinquished their lead once in this game too.
However, the gulf in quality was noticeable when the BVB eventually went 4-1 up before Copenhagen pulled one back in the 90th minute to reduce the deficit.
Juventus 4-4 Dortmund
Dortmund's highest scoring game of the season came away to Juventus on the first matchday of the Champions League season as the rivals, who famously contested the 1997 final, served up a treat once more.
Interestingly, the first half of the clash saw no goals as they headed into the break 0-0. But the second stanza was a breathtaking affair, with Dortmund going in front on three occasions before slumping each time.
