Borussia Dortmund welcome Hamburg to Signal Iduna Park on Saturday for their clash in the Bundesliga as the side aims for a third consecutive win.
Following a tough run last month, the Black and Yellows have won both their fixtures in March, beating FC Koln 2-1 before a 2-0 defeat of Augsburg as they are slowly hitting their stride again.
With 58 points from 26 games, Dortmund are currently in second place and well on their way towards achieving a runners-up finish and a place in next season's Champions League.
Hamburg have punched above their weight in their first season back in the German top-flight in seven years as the side resides in 11th place and well clear of relegation zone.
However, their recent form hasn't been the best, with Die Rothosen winning just once from their last five league outings but will count on their earlier meeting with Dortmund for inspiration here.
Dortmund set out to right the wrongs
Dortmund and Hamburger last clashed on matchday 10, marking their first league meeting since 2017-18 season. The visitors were widely expected to prevail against the newly promoted side, who were on a three-game losing run, and came agonizingly close to securing all three points too.
Carney Chukwuemeka's 64th minute strike was proving to be enough as the match headed into stoppage-time, but just then Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer popped up with an equalizer for Hamburger to force a share of the spoils.
Now 16 games later, the rivals clash again and Dortmund will be out to settle the scores as they aim to cement second position on the league table as soon as possible.
Toothless Hamburg missing their shooting boots
Hamburg boast one of the best defenses in the Bundesliga this season as the side has conceded only 37 goals from 26 games which is quite remarkable for a side playing in the competition after seven long years.
For context, only six teams have shipped in fewer goals than Die Rothosen at this stage of the league campaign. Yet, the side languishes in the bottom half of the standings at 11th for one main reason - lack of goals.
They have struck only 29 times from 26 games, while firing a blank in almost a third of their matches too (9). If they were to get anything out of the fortress that Signal Iduna Park is, them it's imperative for Hamburg to find their shooting boots.
