Borussia Dortmund are aware of their chances at signing Arsenal's prodigious young talent Ethan Nwaneri, according to a confirmation by TEAMtalk sources.

Nwaneri faces an uncertain future at the Emirates given a lack of gametime but has no shortage of suitors with many European sides interested in him.

Dortmund are tracking Nwaneri's situation

After Serie A giants AC Milan reportedly made enquiries about the player, Bundesliga's Borussia Dortmund have emerged as the latest admirers of Nwaneri according to British publication The Sun.

The BVB are said to be aware of his situation at Arsenal right now; how Nwaneri remains behind the pecking order under Mikel Arteta.

It prompted him to seek a loan move to Ligue 1 side Marseille in January this year that saw him make nine appearances for the side in the French top-flight, scoring twice and assisting once.

Although the loan wasn't exactly successful, it has still managed to generate interest from quite a few European sides, now including the Black and Yellow.

Arsenal open to selling Nwaneri

The Gunners are reportedly open to selling Ethan Nwaneri this summer as the player is keen to play more regularly, something that Arteta is reluctant to guarantee him.

In the Premier League alone, Everton, Aston Villa, Newcastle United and promoted sides, Coventry City and Ipswich Town.

When it comes to Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund are not alone. League rivals RB Leipzig are said to be in the race too.

The BVB, though, are believed to have tracked Nwaneri for several years and remain convinced of his abilities to develop into a top attacking player, which perhaps explains their interest.

With so many interested parties lining up for him, Arsenal are unsurprisingly considering a sale for Nwaneri, who holds the record for being the youngest ever player to feature in the Premier League at 15 years and 181 days on 18 September 2022.

But despite his relatively young age and limited appearances, the Premier League champions value Nwaneri at a hefty £50 million with the player still having four years left on his contract with the London outfit.

Dortmund's alternative to Sancho

Another reason behind Dortmund joining the race for Ethan Nwaneri is their reluctance to sign Jadon Sancho as the club remains unconvinced with him after a series of poor results across various clubs since departing in 2022.

The Englisman, who is currently available on a free transfer after his contract with Manchester United expired last month, has been linked with a return to Westfalonstadion lately and if a move doesn't come to pass, Dortmund could go after Nwaneri.
