Organisation director Christian Hockenjos totted up the summer bill on a walk round Signal Iduna Park. It comes to nearly twelve million euros, and almost none of it will ever be seen.

The club now runs roughly 140 cameras, including Stadion Rote Erde. Around twenty of them went in this summer.
"Security is not something you notice as an immediate benefit," said Hockenjos, "but it is very important."
Hockenjos also had the stadium roof wired up. A man climbed that structure during the Euros in 2024, so extra staff watched it until the cameras arrived.
Two VIP rooms have been redone for about €2.5m between them. Ground staff milled and reseeded the pitch.
Toilet blocks under the Süd and Nord are being redone in the coming international break.
Ticket scanning has gone contactless too, though only on iPhones.
Ramy Bensebaini is available for Saturday. Bensebaini's red card against Bayern costs him next Tuesday's trip to HEBC and a possible second-round tie in October. The two-game ban the club confirmed covers the DFB-Pokal only.
Giannis Konstantelias came off the bench and made Dortmund's goal in that Bayern game. He dribbled in from the left and slipped a disguised pass into Daniel Svensson, whose cross was turned in by Fabio Silva.

Dortmund won the competition at the first attempt last season and travel to England as holders. The final against Real Madrid finished 1-0.
Paul Schaffran becomes director of Dortmund's academy on the 1st of September. He joined in 2021 as head of sports science and has led the NLZ since last summer.
Transfer news
Two Turkish clubs now want Fabio Silva. Trabzonspor have inquired first, though talks with Dortmund are live rather than done, transfer reporter Rudy Galetti says.
Their rivals Galatasaray have inquired too.
Silva scored only twice in the Bundesliga last season, and laid on six more.
Newcastle have asked about chief scout Sebastian Krug, talkSPORT reports. So have Tottenham. Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham were among Krug's finds at Dortmund.
Steve Nickson is leaving Newcastle for Wrexham when the window shuts on MOnday evening.

Niko Kovac has one senior right wing-back available.
Yan Couto went to Como, and nobody came the other way. Dortmund still put the thick end of twelve million euro into the stadium this summer, though.
