Borussia Dortmund's ace creator Julian Ryerson wrapped up a phenomenal individual campaign that yielded 18 assists in all competitions and now gears up to take the 2026 FIFA World Cup by storm.

With Norway qualifying for the first time since 1998, everyone's excited to see their young and dynamic side on the world stage and Ryerson is likely to play an instrumental role in their campaign.

Julian Ryerson's 2025-26 season

It was a season to remember for Julian Ryerson. The Norwegian full-back was on fire all throughout, emerging as their chief source of crosses from the right as well as Dortmund's dead-ball specialist.

His tally of 15 assists in the Bundesliga was bettered only by Bayern Munich duo Michael Olise (20) and Luis Diaz (17) while registering the highest figure for league assists in BVB colors since Jadon Sancho's 16 in 2018-19 season.

Ryerson also topped the Bundesliga for most crosses laid with 118, but it was his inch-perfect deliveries from corners and free-kicks that added crucial goals to their game.

Blessed with electric pace and powerful shooting ability, Ryerson was a force to be reckoned with. His link-up with Serhou Guirassy in particular, was devastating for defenses as he assisted the Guinean hitman for his goals on multiple occasions.

After such a spectacular campaign, it was not surprising to see Ryerson get called-up to Norway's squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, having also played a crucial role in their qualifiers with four assists and a goal.

His propensity to drive forward at every opportunity makes him a menacing presence on the flanks while the 28-year-old also combines exemplary vision with powerful deliveries to pick out his teammates in set-piece situations.

Ryerson's attacking combination with Erling Haaland sounds exciting like the same with Serhou Guirassy at Dortmund, but the Manchester City ace is the simply the best scorer in the world today and will be relying on Ryerson's crosses for attacking fodder.

Julian Ryerson stats for Norway

The right-back made his international debut for Norway in November 2020 against Austria in the UEFA Nations League and has since garnered 40 more caps. He's totalled seven assists so far while netting against Moldova in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers for his first and only strike for country.

However, like for everyone else in the squad, the upcoming tournament is set to be his first for the Nordic side, who are set to play in their first major international competition since Euro 2000.
