Amid frustrations over Borussia Dortmund's poor start to the season, Gregor Kobel could look to leave the club next summer.

Gregor Kobel is without a doubt one of Borussia Dortmund's most important players, and has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Bundesliga since joining the club from VfB Stuttgart in 2021. But the 26 year old could look to leave BVB if the team's form does not improve.

This is being claimed by Sky Sport, and the report adds that Kobel is hungry to win trophies. He wants to succeed at BVB, but could also consider a move away if the team's development continues to plateau.

Gregor Kobel was left frustrated after Borussia Dortmund's DFB-Pokal exit

Kobel's frustration was visible after Borussia Dortmund's 1-0 defeat to VfL Wolfsburg in the second round of the DFB-Pokal on Tuesday. The Switzerland international seemed to throw his gloves in anger after BVB were knocked out of the DFB-Pokal.

A number of clubs have been linked with a move for Kobel in the past, including the likes of Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Manchester United. The goalkeeper signed a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund last year, and his current deal has four more years left to run.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Gregor Kobel, who played a crucial role in Borussia Dortmund's run to the UEFA Champions League final last season. BVB will certainly hope that he stays on for years to come, while Kobel will be keen to see an improvement in performances from those in front of him on the pitch.
