In a massive revelation, Borussia Dortmund are reportedly considering bringing back one of their former superstars next summer.

According to football correspondent Graeme Bailey on X, Der BVB are open to resigning Jadon Sancho, who will be available as a free agent at the end of the 2025-26 season.

The Englishman is currently on loan at Aston Villa from Manchester United, but his poor showings mean the club isn't going to make a permanent move for him.

So far this season, Sancho has made 25 appearances in all competitions for the Villans - mostly off the bench - and accounted for just one goal and an assist.

Unai Emery's side does not have any obligation or even the option of signing him permanently as the club was content to sanction a move for him anyways.

But his abysmal record in front of goal means Sancho is unlikely to have a future at the Villa Park beyond the summer.

As far as Manchester United is concerned, his contract with the Red Devils runs out this summer and the Premier Legaue giants aren't keen on offering him a new deal either.

Bailey writes in his report that there was a possibility of United extending his contract, but only so that they could cash in on his transfer instead of losing him on a Bosman.

But now, it's confirmed that the Old Trafford outfit won't be tabling a new contract as Sancho is set to become available as a free agent.

Sancho's camp have reportedly been evaluating his next possible destination, and among the first clubs that have now come into the picture is Dortmund.

He is no stranger to the club. After all, that is where he first shot to stardom following a series of eye-catching displays from 2018-19 season onwards.

Sources close to Sancho have confirmed to Bailey that BVB have emerged as one of the top choices for the 25-year-old this summer. It was said that:

""Jadon’s people are seriously considering Dortmund. He made a huge impact there, and the club are keen to bring him back.""

During his first spell at the club lasting three and a half years, Sancho amassed 137 appearances in all competitions and netted 50 goals.

Manchester United came calling for his services in 2021 and priced him away to Old Trafford for a mammoth £73 million, but Sancho could never justify the hefty price tag.

After two difficult campaigns, he returned to Dortmund on loan for the 2023-24 season wherein he played another 21 games but struck only thrice.

Since then, he's had two more loan spells at Chelsea and Aston Villa, neither of which have been able to get the best out of Sancho.
