Winds of change are set to blow over Signal Iduna Park this summer as Borussia Dortmund gear up for a summer of squad revamp.

With midfield phenom Julian Brandt all set to leave and Nico Schlotterbeck likely to follow, the club will be heading into the summer transfer window with a big wish list.

But it seems like the BVB have already started working behind the scenes with two young guns from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg currently on their radar.

According to Sky Reporter Patrick Berger, the Black and Yelllows are interested in 19-year-old wonderkid Joane Gadou, who has made a statement with his solid displays this season.

He's a centre-back by trade and has amassed 15 appearances for Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga, most of which been from the start.

It's a testament to his growing influence on the side and Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl was reportedly in attendance during Salzburg's league clash with Rapid Vienna last weekend.

The news has intensified speculations of the Bundesliga side's interest in Gadou although nothing concrete has emerged yet.

Coming through the ranks at PSG's youth academy, the Ligue 1 champions have an option of buying him back while his contract with Salzburg runs until 2029.

If Schlotterbeck's departure is confirmed, Dortmund would need reinforcements in the centre-back role and given Gadou's young age and range of talents, they could secure that position for the foreseeable future with the young Frenchman's signing.

But he's not alone. Der Schwarzgelben have another Salzburg player on their radar as forward Nikolaus Wurmbrand was also observed on Sunday by Kehl.

After breaking onto the scene with the Green-Whites in the 2024-25 season, the 20-year-old has assumed a bigger role this time around and bagged more goals too.

Last season, he struck just once in 17 league appearances but has four in 18 this season while having a few more games left to add to his ever increasing tally.

Given Dortmund's history of nurturing young talents into world beaters, the prospect of playing in their fabled black and yellow might appear tempting for them.

Although the club won't have any trophy to show for their efforts this season, Champions League football is another incentive the club can offer as the side is most likely to finish second in the Bundesliga.

It will be interesting to see which other players Dortmund would be chasing this summer.
