As the 2026 FIFA World Cup reaches its business end, clubs around Europe are picking up the paces in terms of summer transfers.

Borussia Dortmund aren't too far behind, with the Bundesliga giants actively looking for new squad reinforcements and there have been some fresh developments lately.

According to FußballTransfer (as reported by One Football), the BVB are interested in signing PSG forward Randal Kolo Muani this summer.

The Frenchman is valued at about €40 million by PSG, where he's under contract until 2028.

BVB forwards could leave

Dortmund's interest stems from uncertain future surrounding their prolific marksman Serhou Guirassy, who's been linked with Turkish side Fenerbahce.

It was also reported today that Barcelona had made an approach for Karim Adeyemi, who could also be on the move this summer.

As the club risks losing two of their key players, new reinforcements would be the need of the hour in the attacking department and Kolo Muani has been considered as a potential recruit.

Where does Kolo Muani stand?

The 27-year-old had a terribly poor 2025-26 season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, where he scored just once from 30 games in the Premier League.

It also saw him miss out on the 2026 FIFA World Cup with France as head coach Didier Deschamps didn't call him up, a stark contract of fortunes for someone who had scored in their penalty shootout loss to Argentina in the 2022 final.

But Kolo Muani remains a quality striker. Last year, he joined Serie A giants Juventus and enjoyed a productive spell by scoring 10 goals in 22 games but a permanent move couldn't materialize due to an impasse between PSG and the Old Lady over his valuation.

After breaking out at Eintracht Frankfurt, PSG signed the French striker on a massive €75 million transfer and has scored 11 goals in 54 games and assisting another seven.

Dortmund taking another gamble

Borussia Dortmund would be taking a big gamble here but at 27, Kolo Muani is currently in the prime of his career and could recapture his mojo under Niko Kovac.

The club also has an enviable track record of developing foreign talents.

He's not coming any cheap though, so the Bundesliga giants might also explore the option of buying him on loan just as Juventus did last year.

But Die Borussen could face competition from Premier League sides Aston Villa and Crystal Palace, both of whom are monitoring his situation right now too.
