Borussia Dortmund play Eintracht Frankfurt at the Signal Iduna Park in the Bundesliga on Friday, aiming to mark their last home game of the league season with a win.

The BVB succumbed to another loss last weekend when Borussia Monchengladbach beat them 1-0 as Niko Kovac's side lost for the third time from their last four top-flight matches.

While it had little repercussions on the table with Bayern Munich already swooping the title and third-place RB Leipzig also dropping points, it certainly made Dortmund's season climax go from sour to bitter.

Eintracht Frankfurt will be aiming to capitalize on their vulnerabilities here and perhaps inflict more damage.

Here's how the BVB fared in their last five meetings with Frankfurt:

Borussia Dortmund 3-1 Eintracht Frankfurt (March 2024, Bundesliga)

Former Dortmund star Mario Gotze marked his return to Westfalonstadion with an early strike to put Frankfurt ahead. But Karim Adeyemi equalized in the 33rd minute, exactly 20 minutes later.

The second half was a more cagey affair with goals seemingly hard to come by, although the Black and Yellows struck twice late on through Mats Hummels and Emre Can to seal the deal.

Borussia Dortmund 2-0 Eintracht Frankfurt (August 2024, Bundesliga)

Another visit to Dortmund and another loss for Frankfurt, who came away undone with a late brace from Jamie Gittens.

Unlike last time, this game took some time to open up as the rivals contested a seemingly even affair. But the balance was upset when Gittens made it 1-0 for the hosts in the 72nd minute. He then consolidated all three points in the 90th minute with a second.

Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 Borussia Dortmund (January 2025, Bundesliga)

On their first visit to Frankfurt since October 2023, Dortmund came in wounded from consecutive defeats to Bayer Leverkusen and Holstein Kiel to mark a horrible beginning to the new year.

Frankfurt served to inflict more damage upon them here as Hugo Ekitike and Rasmus Hojlund combined to win 2-0 and make it three losses from their first three games of 2025.

Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1 (3-5 on penalties) Borussia Dortmund (October 2025, DFB Pokal)

The first meeting between the sides in the 2025-26 season came in the German Cup, as they locked horns in the second round.

Frankfurt took the lead once more but the BVB equalized after the break. With no further goals, the match headed into a penalty shootout where Fares Chaibi and Ritsu Doan missed their spot-kicks for the Eagles while Dortmund converted all five to advance into the next round.

Eintracht Frankfurt 3-3 Borussia Dortmund (January 2026, Bundesliga)

This one was a classic, as Frankfurt and Dortmund played out a six-goal thriller in the league which saw the latter throw away their lead twice.

The Eagles then appeared to have won it at the death when former Dortmund player Mahmoud Dahoud made it 3-2 in stoppage time, but Carney Chukwuemeka struck for the BVB minutes after to rescue a point.
