Borussia Dortmund host Freiburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday for their penultimate home game of the league season.
The BVB are aiming to recover from consecutive defeats in their last two top-flight matches which appear to have derailed their run and prevented them from officially sealing Champions League qualification.
Freiburg, coming off the back of two league wins in a row, are aiming to pile more misery on them, but their own record against the BVB has been miserable.
Here's how the last five meetings between the sides looked:
Freiburg 2-4 Dortmund (September 2023, Bundesliga)
We start off with a serpentine clash full of twists and turns as the rivals met on matchday four of the 2023-24 Bundesliga season.
Matts Hummels' early strike for Dortmund was canceled out after Lucas Holer and Nicolas Hofler struck in the added minutes of the opening stanza. But the visitors then staged an incredible comeback by netting thrice after the break to prevail 4-2.
Dortmund 3-0 Freiburg (February 2024, Bundesliga)
Contrast to their earlier clash that season, this one was pretty lop-sided with Dortmund comfortably seeing off Freiburg at the Signal Iduna Park to complete their second league double in a row against the side.
Donyell Malen fired the BVB in front after 16 minutes as the Dutchman then doubled their advantage seconds before the half-time whistle. Niclas Fullkrug, who had assisted both of Malen's first-half strikes, then turned the scorer in the dying embers.
Dortmund 4-0 Freiburg (November 2024, Bundesliga)
On their second visit of 2024 to Westfalonstadion, the Breisgau-Brasilianer were dealt an even bigger humiliation by Dortmund, who struck one more goal than then previous clash.
Maximilian Beier and Felix Nmecha struck apiece in the first half to put them 2-0 up, while Julian Brandt and Jamie Gittens added two more to the scoreline in the second half as hapless Freiburg were blown out of the park.
Freiburg 1-4 Dortmund (April 2025, Bundesliga)
Freiburg's nightmare run against Borussia Dortmund continued with another hammering, this time on their own turf as the BVB were once again relentless.
Karim Adeyemi, Carney Chukwuemeka, Serhou Guirassy and Jamie Gittens were all on target for Dortmund before Maximilian Eggestein pulled one back for the hosts late on for some consolation for the battered home crowd.
Seven wins in a row against Freiburg.
Freiburg 1-1 Dortmund (December 2025, Bundesliga)
This season, however, things changed a bit as Freiburg were able to break their jinx against Dortmund and hold them to a stalemate at the Europa-Park Stadion.
As always, Dortmund went in front as Ramy Bensebaini struck after 31 minutes but Lucas Holer restored parity for the home side midway through the second half.
