Borussia Dortmund play their last home game of the 2025-26 Bundesliga season against Eintracht Frankfurt at the Signal Iduna Park tonight.
After three losses from their last four games, the mood within the BVB camp has dampened in no time as the side were on a roll before it spiraled out into chaos.
With their Champions League objective secured, Niko Kovac's fledgling side are now looking to seal the runners-up spot too, which they can with just a draw.
Third-placed RB Leipzig, who also lost their previous outing, remain five points adrift of Dortmund ahead of the last two league matches of the season, so even a stalemate for the latter would mean the second place is assured.
But it's easier said than done against an Eintracht Frankfurt side who they have faced twice already this season and failed to win on either occasion.
The Eagles are battling to keep their slim European hopes alive but will have to turn their fortunes around for that as they have failed to win either of their last three top-flight matches.
1) Last home game of the season
Signal Iduna Park opens its gates to the fans for one last time this season as Borussia Dortmund will be hoping to serve them a treat before pulling down the curtains.
What a ride it's been, too! In fact, the 2025-26 season will go down in history as one of the best in terms of home record as Dortmund lost just twice in 16 games, while winning 12.
2) Dortmund's worrying record against Frankfurt
The Black and Yellows however, will be wary of their record to Frankfurt in recent times as they have failed to beat them in their last three official meetings.
Following a 2-0 loss in January 2025, the sides played out two draws this season: a 1-1 in the DFB Pokal which although Dortmund won on penalties before a 3-3 stalemate in the Bundesliga.
Now here's the catch: all three matches were away from home. Dortmund have beaten Frankfurt in their last four consecutive home games!
3) Westfalonstadion farewells coming up
This game will also see a few Dortmund players play their last at the Signal Iduna Park, most notably Julian Brandt. The midfielder is set to depart the club after seven amazing years.
The German star's contract expires next month and will leave on a Bosman as Dortmund are set for a summer of massive squad overhaul.
Along with him, Bundesliga veteran Niklas Sule and Turkish international Salih Ozcan will play their last at the fabled stadium of BVB too. While Ozcan is confirmed to depart this summer, Sule is retiring.
