The 2026 FIFA World Cup is now for the history books. It was an eventful affair across 40 days packed with breathtaking football, jaw-dropping goals, some tense moments and a few mind-boggling scorelines.
Borussia Dortmund were among the clubs to have the highest number of representatives at the tournament with 10 players from their first-team squad participating at the North American showpiece.
Here, we rank each of them by the number of minutes played:
10) Maximilian Beier (Germany) - 26 minutes
Fierce competition for places in Germany's attacking vanguard meant the less experienced Beier got only 26 minutes of action to witness, coming off the bench against Ecuador for his only appearance.
9) Waldemar Anton (Germany) - 48 minutes
Beier is followed by his German compatriot Anton, Dortmund's defensive linchpin who couldn't nail down a berth in the national side.
8) Carney Chukwuemeka (Austria) - 81 minutes
After switching from England to Austria in March this year, Chukwuemeka are touted for a big role at the World Cup for Austria but ended up playing just 81 minutes as Das Team reached the last-32.
7) Daniel Svensson (Sweden) - 98 minutes
Sweden had a mixed campaign and so did Daniel Svensson, who drifted in and out of their XI while completing only 98 minutes as the Blagult went out in the Round of 32.
6) Nico Schlotterbeck (Germany) - 135 minutes
Schlotterbeck would have certainly ranked higher if it wasn't for an unfortunate hamstring injury. Until then, he was balling as the defender scored in their opening game and looking indispensable in Germany's back-line.
5) Julian Ryerson (Norway) - 226 minutes
Dortmund's assist king made it the farthest alongside Gregor Kobel as Norway reached their first-ever World Cup quarter-finals but clocked only 226 minutes while failing to register a single assist after 18 with BVB last season.
4) Felix Nmecha (Germany) - 273 minutes
Scored Germany's opening goal of the campaign, assisted Undav for the winner against Ivory Coast and then conceded possession that led to a goal against Ecuador: it was anti-climactic for him.
3) Marcel Sabitzer (Austria) - 360 minutes
A vital cog in Austria's engine room, Sabitzer played every minute of Austria's campaign while also getting on target against Algeria in their final group fixture.
2) Ramy Bensebaini (Algeria) - 360 minutes
The mortar to Algeria's brick, Bensebaini emerged as their undisputed leader in defense and was never subbed off in any of their four matches at the World Cup.
1) Gregor Kobel (Switzerland) - 690 minutes
Gregor Kobel clocked the most minutes of any Dortmund player at the FIFA World Cup and by a mile too. He played in every game for La Nati until the quarter-finals and kept two clean sheets in the knockout stages as well as emerging as their hero in the penalty shootout win over Colombia in the last-16.
