Borussia Dortmund boast some of the most exciting young talents in their squad and a few have even joined their youth academy this summer.
During their last preseason campaign, young guns like Takato Yamamoto, Enzo Duarte and Mathis Albert all had breakout spells.
Joane Gadou, signed from Red Bull Salzburg, has impressed in the season proper to become a mainstay in Niko Kovac's XI already, whereas Jobe Bellingham recently assisted their winning goal against Stuttgart.
Now, many of them will be in action during the international break too. Here's a full list of Dortmund players aged 21 or below, who have received call-ups with their nation's youth teams:
Jobe Bellingham (England U21)
Jude Bellingham's less-decorated younger brother recently made waves for Borussia Dortmund with an assist in a crucial Bundesliga win over VfB Stuttgart, although it wasn't enough to earn him a senior call-up with England yet.
Nevertheless, he returns to action with their Under-21 side, with whom he's already bagged 11 appearances since debuting in 2024. Bellingham will be aiming to carry his club form onto the international stage as the Young Lions take on Kazakhstan, Slovakia and Ireland in the 2027 UEFA Euro Under-21 qualifiers.
Ethan Nwaneri (England U21)
Joining Bellingham in England's under-21 side will be Ethan Nwaneri, who joined Borussia Dortmund on loan from Arsenal on deadline day. His impact was almost immediate, forcing an own goal from Albian Hajdari that completed BVB's turnaround in a 3-2 win over Hoffenheim, but since then, the forward has struggled to make a mark.
The Englishman has garnered four appearances with the club in all competitions but is yet to complete 90 minutes in any of them. However, none of this has stopped Lee Carsley from summoning him for their upcoming qualifier games with England's U21 side.
Joane Gadou (France U21)
Signed on a €19.5 million transfer from Red Bull Salzburg, Joane Gadou impressed for Dortmund during the preseason and has carried over that form into the season proper too. His reward for consistency is a first-ever call-up to France's under-21 side.
Given the sheer competition for places in the senior team, Gadou will have to prove his mettle with the youth side again and will have his opportunities to impress against Iceland, Estonia, Luxembourg and Switzerland in the Euro U21 qualifiers.
Luca Reggiani (Italy U21)
Another BVB starlet waiting to break into an international under-21 side is Luca Reggiani, who has received a call-up to Italy despite never appearing for Dortmund in the 2026-27 season so far. He reportedly had fallen behind in the defensive pecking order and was sent to play with BVB's youth teams instead.
He thereby misses Italy's senior team this time after making his debut in June, but all's not lost yet, as his services will be needed with the Azzurri's under-21 side, with whom the defender is now in line to make his debut.
Kaua Prates (Brazil U20)
One of Dortmund's two South American imports this summer, Kaua Prates is yet to see proper gametime with the club, having played just 46 minutes so far this season. But it clearly hasn't affected his chances with Brazil's under-20 side, where Prates is one of just six players that are plying their trade outside of Brazil.
Born in 2008, the former Cruzeiro defender has played two games with the side, both coming against Paraguay U20 back in March. Should he play against Denmark U20 on Monday, it would be his first appearance with the side the switch to Dortmund.
