Spanish prodigy Ousmane Diallo has left Borussia Dortmund to join Serie A side Parma, the club has announced. The 19-year-old, who has signed a contract until 2031, had joined their youth academy from Spanish side Deportivo Alaves in 2023 and played 103 games for them in all competitions, including in the Regionalliga West.
Born in Las Palmas, Diallo's request for a transfer was approved by Dortmund even though his contract with the club ran until June 2027 while both, them and Parma have agreed not to disclose any key details surrounding the move, including the transfer fee. But according to Sky Sport Italia, it is believed to be about €1.5million.
Head of Dortmund's youth academy Paul Schaffran issued a statement highlighting the player's accomplishments while hinting that Die Borussen could still come back for him in future. He is quoted saying:
"“Ousmane has developed very well with us, and not least thanks to his performances in Spain’s U19 European Championship victory, the opportunity for a move to Serie A has opened up for him. We wish him all the best on his journey at Parma and will be closely monitoring his development.""said Schaffran after the transfer
During his time with Dortmund's youth side, Diallo won the U17 Championship in 2024 and the Premier League International Cup in May this year. Earlier this month, the Spaniard also played a key role in helping La Roja win the U19 European Championship.
A winger by trade, Diallo possesses devastating finishing skills and scored 22 goals while also bagging another 13 assists during his time with the BVB. He's versatile enough to operate from both the flanks and can take on defenders with his excellent hold-up play and composure under pressure.
Diallo is also known for his set-piece ability and can make excellent deliveries from dead-ball situations. Technically adept and not too flashy, the Spanish teen offers great width going forward, playing a key role in stretching out opposition defenses.
Although he never made a senior appearance for Borussia Dortmund, Schaffran's comments hints at a possible return for Diallo in the future. Perhaps, they have included a buy-back clause in his transfer that would allow them to make a purchase once again if the club is content with his career trajectory.
Diallo is slated to join Parma's first team immediately and could feature in their pre-season campaign. Their 2026-27 Serie A season officially begins on 23 August at home to Cagliari.
