Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig gear up for a high-octane showdown at the Red Bull Arena tonight in the Bundesliga as second takes on the sixth.
The odds are stacked in Der BVB's favor as the side is currently on a six-game winning run in the league, but history backs Leipzig, who have got a few over them in recent clashes.
Earlier this season, the rivals played out a rare 1-1 draw at the Signal Iduna Park, a first stalemate in the fixture in 13 meetings.
Christoph Baumgartner fired the Red Bulls in front after only seven minutes into the kick-off before Yan Couto equalized in the 23rd minute for the Black and Yellows.
But tonight's game is higher at stakes as the title race is heading into its home stretch and Dortmund are keen to remain hot on the heels of Bayern, whereas Leipzig want to boost their Champions League push.

Borussia Dortmund are on the longest unbeaten run active in the Bundesliga right now with 15 games unbeaten since losing 2-1 to Bayern Munich on 18 October 2025.
It's also their longest in a single campaign since 2018-19 season when the BVB produced a similar run under then manager Lucien Favre.
2) Leipzig have won 5 consecutive home games vs Dortmund
Quite incredibly, the Red Bulls have won their last five encounters to Dortmund on home turf, including a 2-0 defeat of the side in a DFB Pokal Cup encounter.
The run began with a 3-0 vanquish of the BVB in September 2022, followed by a 2-0 win in the cup and then a stunning 4-1 thumping in April 2024. Last year, Leipzig beat Dortmund 2-0 at the Red Bull Arena.
For the record, Dortmund haven't lost these many away games in a row to any opposition since 2023 against Bayern (7 consecutive away defeats in the league).
3) This fixture has never ended goalless
Another reason that makes Dortmund-Leipzig rivalry special is that this fixture has never ended goalless before. Ever. In any competition.
In the three stalemates between them, the scores were 1-1 (March 2018), 3-3 (December 2019) and 1-1 again (October 2025).
Also, this fixture hasn't ended in a draw consecutively. So having seen a draw in their first league meeting of the season, their clash tonight is likely going to produce a winner.
4) Leipzig struggling with mediocrity
While the BVB are soaring great heights, Leipzig's form is down in the dumps right now. The club has won just once in their last five competitive fixtures, while seeing only three wins in the last 10 league matches.
During this period, Bayern crushed them 5-1 in the league before knocking them out of the DFB Pokal Cup in a 2-0 triumph, while Bayer Leverkusen and Union Berlin each secured 3-1 wins against the Red Bulls.
Even a struggling Wolfsburg side managed to go ahead twice in the game against them at the Red Bull Arena last weekend.
