Borussia Dortmund are back in the German Supercup this weekend after a gap of five years. They face-off with eternal rivals Bayern Munich at the Westfalonstadion on Saturday, aiming for their seventh title in history.

But did you know, that only 15 players from the club have ever scored in the cup before? Here's a rundown of each of them:

1989

Dortmund's first appearance in the Supercup was one to remember, as they saw off Bayern in a 4-3 thriller. Three players were on target for the BVB that day: Gunter Breitzke, who scored a brace, Jurgen Wegmann and the late winner from future World Cup winner Andreas Moller.

1995

Six years later, Die Borussen were back in the cup as German champions, facing off league cup winners Borussia Monchengladbach. But unlike their maiden appearance, this was more cagey, with Julio Cesar netting the only goal of their 1-0 win after 71 minutes.

1996

Upon retaining their top-flight crown, the BVB secured their passage into the Supercup once more the following year. FC Kaiserslautern were the opponents this time, and Carsten Wolters struck the equalizer for the Bundesliga winners just 11 mintues after they fell behind. The match finished 1-1 before Dortmund prevailed 4-3 on penalties.

2012

The 2011 edition of the cup finished 0-0 between Ruhr Valley rivals Dortmund and Schalke. But the following year, Bayern beat the Black and Yellow 2-1. Robert Lewandowski pulled one back in the 75th minute after Mario Mandzukic and Thomas Muller had given the Bavarians a two-goal cushion in the opening stanza. But it failed to inspire a comeback.

2013

This one was far more interesting. Just two months after contesting the Champions League final which Bayern won 2-1 over Dortmund, the Der Klassiker rivals met again, this time in the Supercup and the BVB got their revenge with a stunning 4-2 win. Marco Reus was the hero with a double, while Ilkay Gundogan netted a late fourth. The other was an own goal from Bayern's Daniel Van Buyten.

2014

Another Supercup, another Der Klassiker, another Dortmund win. Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang served to ruin Lewandowski's homecoming post a sensational Bayern transfer just weeks before.

2017

Having lost 2-0 to Bayern in 2016, Dortmund got another chance here after winning the DFB-Pokal. They even went ahead twice in the match, first through Christian Pulisic and then through Aubameyang. But the Bavarians fought back each time before prevailing 5-4 on penalties.

2019

The last time Dortmund won the Supercup. Paco Alcacer and Jadon Sancho were on target for the BVB, clinching their sixth title in the one-off competition.

2020

Another tense game between the rivals, with Dortmund fighting back a two goal deficit through Julian Brandt and Erling Haaland, although it eventually proved fruitless with Joshua Kimmich netting a late winner for Bayern.

2021

For the third consecutive year, the Supercup was contested by Germany's biggest clubs and Bayern came up trumps once more in a 3-1 win. Marco Reus was the only scorer for Dortmund that day.
