"Has to be a starter" - Fans praise Jobe Bellingham for instant impact off the bench in Frankfurt win

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jobe Bellingham garnered plaudits from the fans after coming off the bench to assist Maximilian Beier's winner against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

The Englishman combined superbly with Beier on the left before racing forward and evading his marker to cut it back for the forward, who sent a fearsome strike into the far corner.

After having left furstrated in front of goal for 80 minutes, Dortmund finally had their breakthrough and saw off the remainder of the clash to win 1-0.

Niko Kovac's brilliant substitutions lifted them out of the lurch once more. While Beier was the difference-maker with his peach of a strike, Bellingham was praised for his efforts too.

The former Birmingham City was on the field for just a few seconds before he made the assist, his second of the season and the second for Beier, having teed him up against Stuttgart too.

Fans made sure Bellingham is also recognized for his impact, holding him in high regard after the clash. Here are some of the best fan reactions:

Popular football page The Touchline attributed Bellingham's heroics to Dortmund heritage, as his older brother Jude Bellingham had also pulled off such moments for them before:

"🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: JOBE BELLINGHAM APPEARS AND SAVES BOURUSSIA DORTMUND!

• 78th: Jobe Bellingham comes on
• 79th: Jobe Bellingham TOP ASSIST for Dortmund to score

IT'S A BELLINGHAM THING. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿"

Another X user echoed the sentiment:

"New record for Jobe. Half a minute after stepping into the game he helped assist the winning goal for Dortmund 👏👏 Trust The Bellinghams to do their things"

Another verified football blog on X, Futbolnamass, was in disblief:

"Jobe Bellingham needed barely a minute to make his mark. He came on and, seconds later, assisted Maximilian Beier's winner against Eintracht Frankfurt. 🤯👏"

One BVB fan made a big claim on Bellingham's starting place in the side:

"Jobe Bellingham has to be a starter

the "problem" is that Veerman and Nmecha can't be on the bench either

this team needs to play in a 3-4-3, our fullbacks don't know how to attack anyway"

A fan page dedicated to Jobe Bellingham himself wrote:

"jobe came on in the 79th and assisted seconds later. borussia wins 😮‍💨🖤💛"

Another Borussia Dortmund page tweeted:

"Whispering here so they won't hear me:

Jobe Bellingham came on really well!"

One X user wrote:

"I'm afraid we're gonna have to call jobe bellingham to assist our players today"

This BVB supporter tweeted about the frenzy caused by the 21-year-old:

"he came in and changed the game with an assist—it's the Jobe Bellingham fever 💛"
