Borussia Dortmund face off with their biggest rivals Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga tomorrow as Germany's most elite sides lock horns in the 141st Der Klassiker in history.
The fixture has almost never failed to deliver, with many incredibly talented players gracing the most historic rivalry in German football.
While Bayern have always boasted some of the best forwards, Dortmund have had their fare share of prolific goalscorers who have found the net in the Klassiker.
Here are the five Dortmund players who have scored the most goals against Bayern:
Robert Lewandowski - 5 goals (14 games)
Robert Lewandowski was so used to scoring against Borussia Dortmund during his eight-year spell with Bayern Munich that it's easy to forget he scored for the opposite side in the Der Klassiker before that too. He came up against his future employers 14 times in four years between 2010 and 2014, most famously in the 2013 UEFA Champions League final too which Bayern won 2-1 and the Pole failed to get on target under Wembley lights.
But just a year before that final, Lewandowski ripped the Bavarians apart in the DFB-Pokal finals with a sensational hat-trick as Dortmund won 5-2 and completed the German double. In the league though, the striker was often underwhelming, scoring just once in eight Bundesliga meetings. His only other strike in the Der Klassiker came in the 2012 German Supercup edition.
Erling Haaland - 5 goals (7 games)
Erling Haaland managed an identical number of goals in Der Klassiker but in half the matches as Lewandowski. He failed to score in his first one in May 2020, but found the net in his next four, including in the 2020 edition of the Supercup, although Dortmund always ended up on the losing side.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - 6 goals (17 games)
One of Dortmund's finest scorers of all-time, Aubameyang was a valuable figure in Der Klassikers too, bagging six goals. Four of them came in the cup games, including the 2015 and 2017 cup semi-finals, and once in the 2014 Supercup, all of which helped the BVB down Bayern.
Lothar Emmerich - 8 goals (9 games)
A Borussia Dortmund legend of the 1960s, Emmerich struck eight goals against Bayern in the Der Klassiker from eight league matches, which includes a hat-trick in September 1967's 6-3 win for the Black and Yellow, putting him on the list of select few Dortmund players who have managed the feat.
Marco Reus - 9 goals (29 goals)
It says a lot about Dortmund's struggles that not a single player has managed to hit double-digits against Bayern Munich in Der Klassiker. Nevertheless, the one who came the closest was their former captain, Marco Reus.
He already had three goals against FC Hollywood during his Borussia Monchengladbach days, but continued to torment the side in the Klassiker with Dortmund too. Some of his memorable performances including a talismanic brace in the 2013 Supercup and a double in their 3-2 league win in 2019.
