Borussia Dortmund continue their 2026-27 Bundesliga season away to TSG Hoffenheim in Sinsheim on Saturday, hoping to build on their winning start to the season last weekend.

The BVB saw off Hamburger SV on the opening weekend of the campaign, as goals from Serhou Guirassy and debutant Giannis Konstantelias handed them a 2-0 win at home.

Although it was a Pyrrhic victory with Konstantelias suffering a torn ACL and Samuele Inacio getting sent off, Die Borussen backed it up with a 5-0 thumping of HEBC in the DFB-Pokal on Tuesday.

The consecutive victories demonstrate how Dortmund have recovered from the Supercup loss to Bayern Munich whilst keeping back-to-back clean sheets for the first time since February.

Following a summer of squad revamp that saw them make exciting new signings, Niko Kovac's side are hoping to give Bayern a serious challenge for the Mesiterschale once again this season.

However, their upcoming travel presents a potential banana skin in their endavors, as Hoffenheim have fond memories of Dortmund's last visit to their stadium.

Back in April, Die Kraichgauer dealt them a narrow 2-1 loss with prolific forward Andrej Kramaric scoring the winner in the eighth added minute from the penalty spot.

A repeat of the same would puncture some of the momentum that BVB have built early into their campaign and leave them trailing the Bavarians already.

Dortmund though, would be encouraged to see that Hoffenheim were beaten in their opening day fixture against FC Koln, who fought back a deficit twice to prevail 3-2.

Hoffenheim vs Dortmund Team News

Die Kraichgauer are fretting over the availability of talismanic forward Fisnik Asllani, who missed their first round clash with a knee injury. Alexander Prass also missed out with a muscle issue.

Patrick Wimmer, who scored a brace in their 4-0 drubbing of Erzgebirge Aue in the DFB-Pokal first round, is gunning for a start if Asllani isn't declared fit.

As for Dortmund, the club is bracing itself for a lengthy spell without new signing Konstantelias after the Greek midfielder suffered a torn ACL injury that's set to sideline him for months.

Emre Can has been recovering from the same issue for months now while Nico Schlotterbeck has returned to training for the first time since picking up an injury at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

However, this game might still come too soon for him. Samuele Inacio will serve the first of his two-game suspension for a red card last weekend in the Hamburg win.

Hoffenheim vs Dortmund Predicted XI

Hoffenheim's probable XI: Oliver Baumann; Vladimir Coufal, Albian Hajdari, Ozan Kabak, Bernardo; Leon Avdullahu, Wouter Burger; Patrick Wimmer, Bambase Conte, Adam Daghim; Tim Lemperle.

Hoffenheim vs Dortmund Prediction

Die Kraichgauer will be looking to make a point in front of their fans in their first home game of the league season but expect Dortmund, who otherwise have a good record in the fixture, to se them off narrowly.

Prediction: Hoffenheim 1-2 Dortmund
