Borussia Dortmund lock horns with Bayer Leverkusen at the Signal Iduna Park in the Bundesliga on Saturday as they aim to extend their winning run in the competition to five games.

With 64 points in the bag from 28 games, the Black and Yellows are currently in second place of the league standings and close to securing their place in the 2026-27 Champions League season.

Niko Kovac's side will be particularly buoyed by their late 2-0 win over Stuttgart last weekend as supersubs Karim Adeyemi and Julian Brandt struck in stoppage-time.

Bayer Leverkusen aren't too far behind, sitting in sixth place and coming into the fixture on the back of a six-game unbeaten run in the league.

Die Werkself are also coming off the back of a memorable win, fighting back from 3-1 down to beat Wolfsburg 6-3 in their last clash, ending their sordid run of three consecutive draws.

Here's what to look forward to from their latest encounter:

Dortmund's home struggles against Leverkusen

Borussia Dortmund boast a good record at home in the Bundesliga but that against Bayer Leverkusen isn't so stellar as they have won just one of their last five home clashes against them in all competitions.

Leverkusen's last visit to Signal Iduna Park resulted in a 1-0 win in their DFB-Pokal last-16 encounter on 3 December 2025 while their last league visit there also resulted in a 3-2 win. They have never won three consecutive away games against Dortmund, though.

Leverkusen defense in sixes and sevens

While Die Werkself are unbeaten in their last six league games, it wasn't all hunky-dory for them during this period either as Leverkusen conceded goals like there's no tomorrow.

In three of their last four top-flight matches, the side has conceded thrice: 3-3 vs Freiburg, 3-3 vs Heidenheim and 6-3 vs Wolfsburg.

In that last one, Leverkusen managed to pull off a sensational comeback but it does little to hide their lackluster defending lately, something Dortmund will be looking to capitalize on.

Dortmund eyeing a rare league double

Borussia Dortmund could complete their first league double over Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga since the 2022-23 season with a win on Saturday, having beaten them 2-1 in their first meeting back in November.

Aaron Anselmino and Karim Adeyemi were on target for the visitors before Christian Kofane pulled one back for Leverkusen late on, setting up an interesting finale although the hosts failed to bag an elusive equalizer.
