Borussia Dortmund left it late in Stuttgart but came away with a 2-0 win as Karim Adeyemi and Julian Brandt saved their blushes in stoppage-time.

Adeyemi broke the deadlock in the 94th minute after the home side failed to clear a looping cross fro Brandt, who then turned the scorer soon after with a sweet strike into the top-right corner.

With four wins in a row, Dortmund consolidated their position in second place of the Bundesliga table with 64 points from 28 games, moving 11 clear of RB Leipzig and Stuttgart.

Interesting facts from Dortmund's late surge against Die Roten:

Dortmund don't lose easily

Der BVB ended their run of three cosnecutive defeats at the MHP Arena on Saturday with a 2-0 win. That means after 28 matchdays in the league, they remain defeated only twice - both by leaders Bayern Munich.

The last time they suffered only these many losses were back in the 1965-66 season, making it their best run in 60 years! Quite a remarkable tally for the club by all accounts as they've been one of the toughest teams to beat this season.

Goals galore for Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund haven't been the most goalcrazy side in Europe but have managed to find the back of the net, nonetheless.

Since their 2-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach on 19 December 2025, Dortmund have scored at least twice in 14 consecutive top-flight matches, equalling their record from 1995.

Dortmund's away record to Stuttgart

With the 2-0 win on Saturday, Borussia Dortmund picked up their 17th away league victory against VfB Stuttgart, their best record against any side in the Bundesliga right now.

Ironically, Die Borussen had lost on their last three visits there and remained winless in their last four while failing to win any of their last seven clashes against the Reds.

All that ended because of two late goals from Adeyemi and Brandt.

Chukwuemeka hits 50

Borussia Dortmund's rising star Carney Chukwuemeka came back from a historic international break that saw him make his debut for Austria and even score on the momentous occasion.

Although it was a relatively sombre affair for him on Saturday, he started the game nonetheless, marking his first appearance in the XI in three months.

More importantly, the 22-year-old clocked 50 appearances for the Black and Yellows since joining the side in 2024, achieving a significant milestone that underlines his importance in the squad.
