Jürgen Klopp apparently had an offer to return to Borussia Dortmund in any role he wanted, but turned it down before subsequently joining the Red Bull group.
Former Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool head coach is set to make a stunning return to football as it was announced earlier this month that he will be taking over as the Red Bull group's new Head of Global Soccer.
The 57 year old's decision to join the RB group took many by surprise, considering his past statements on their model and how he was regarded as a football traditionalist during his coaching career.

Klopp also had the option to make a spectacular return to Borussia Dortmund two and a half years ago. According to SportBILD, Hans-Joachim Watzke made an offer to Klopp that he could join BVB in any role he wanted after his time at Liverpool came to an end. This offer was turned down by the two-time Bundesliga winner.
The magazine adds that Klopp did not want to work with just one club in his next role. Instead, he was keen to gain new experiences and broader insights. And that is why he decided to make the switch to the RB group, who have clubs in several countries under their umbrella.
It will be interesting to see how Jürgen Klopp's stint with the Red Bull group goes in the coming years. Reports have claimed in recent days that there is a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave his role and take over as the Germany national team head coach if the opportunity were to arise.
