Borussia Dortmund legend Robert Lewandowski has surpassed his appearance tally for the club with more games played for Barcelona now.
The Polish legend made his 188th appearance with the Blaugrana on Saturday, one more than his tally for Dortmund (187).
He's amassed more appearances with Bayern Munich too, having spent eight seasons there but what makes this stat special is his longevity.
Lewandowski was 33 when he joined Barcelona in 2022. Today he's 37 but continues to play a central role to the club's ambitions as the striker has defied Father Time.
But it was at Dortmund where he truly carved a niche for himself as one of the best goalscorers in Europe.
The club scouts noticed his talents during Lewandowski's time at Polish side Lech Poznan, where he bagged 41 goals in 82 games.
Dortmund soon came calling and signed him up for a meager sum of €4.5 million in 2010, when he was just 22 years old.
Under Jurgen Klopp, Lewandowski evolved into a fearsome striker who tore apart defenses with ruthless efficiency.
His beginnings were rather somber, bagging only nine goals from 43 appearances as doubts circled over his ability to lead the side.
But over the next three years, the Polish talisman tied the lasso to his waist and went hell for leather, scoring 94 goals from 144 appearances in all competitions.
Some of his memorable exploits include a hat-trick against Bayern Munich in the 2012 DFB-Pokal finals and a sensational four-goal haul against Real Madrid in the 2013 Champions League semi-finals.
He won two league titles, one domestic cup, one domestic supercup and picked up a runners-up medal in the Champions League too.
In 2014, Bayern came knocking and priced him away to Allianz Arena and the rest is history. Over the next eight years, Lewandowski hounded Dortmund in the Der Klassikers, banging in goals left, right and centre.
Since moving to Barcelona, he's faced Dortmund once and came back to haunt his former employers when the sides clashed in the quarter-finals of the 2024-25 season.
In the first leg at Camp Nou, Lewandowski was on target in a 4-0 win, netting twice as the Black and Yellows once again failed to keep him out.
Dortmund created this goal-machine, but ended up being the biggest victims of it as Lewandowski has scored more against Dortmund (29 goals) than any other club he's ever faced in his career.
Nonetheless, he remains a Dortmund legend.
