Borussia Dortmund were held to a 0-0 draw by Union Berlin in the Bundesliga on Saturday as they failed to win their third game in a row post the international break.

Just four days after the disappointing 1-0 loss away to Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League, the BVB had another underwhelming clash at the Stadion An der Alte Forsterei tonight.

The Iron Ones defended with all their might and it wasn't until the hour mark when Fabio Silva and Mathis Albert came in, that BVB began to show some attacking initiative.

Dampening the spirits further on the Dortmund bench was an injury to Konstantinos Karetsas, who twisted his ankle and had to be taken off, just eight minutes after coming on.

Here are the player ratings for Borussia Dortmund:

Gregor Kobel - 7: Didn't have a to make a single save in the match; a clean sheet to boot.

Joane Gadou - 7: Proactively chased down anyone looking to barge in from his side of the pitch; made seven clearances on the night.

Waldemar Anton - 8: Reliable as always, making a staggering 20 defensive contributions to keep Berlin's forwards at bay.

Nico Schlotterbeck - 8: Back in the lineup with a bang, commanding his area with authority and vigilance.

Julian Ryerson - 8.5: Dortmund's best attacking player on the night, creating four chances and laying 15 crosses, including one that set up a brilliant chance for Maximilian Beier in the second half.

Jobe Bellingham - 7: Tracked back when needed to offer an extra defensive cover.

Felix Nmecha - 6: Passed around well and sought to break forward too, but lacked the end product.

Daniel Svensson - 7.5: Offer support from the left with his domineering runs forward; seven crosses and two key passes to his name too.

Ethan Nwaneri - 6: Misplaced passes and was wayward with his shots too; replaced after 62 minutes.

Maximilian Beier - 6.5: Sprung to life after the break but wasted a glorious chance in the 52nd minute by firing an inviting cross from Ryerson wide with the goal gaping in front of him.

Serhou Guirassy - 5: Perhaps his poorest game of the season yet, with Guirassy heavily marked to limit his influence; found an opening in the 59th minute but his shot came off his own teammate, Mathis Albert inside the box.
