Serhou Guirassy and Giannis Konstantelias combined to fire Borussia Dortmund to a routine 2-0 win over Hamburg in their first game of the 2026-27 Bundesliga season.
The Guinean ace fired an unstoppable low-drive from inside the box before debutant Konstantelias doubled their advantage in the closing stages of the first half.
Dortmund were in cruise control but appeared to lose steam after the Greek gun went off with an injury in the 54th minute, while Samuele Inacio was sent off for a harsh challenge on Hamburg's Albert Gronbek after 77 minutes.
With Hamburg struggling to find their attacking rhythm, the BVB saw out the remainder of the clash without any hassle and secured all three points to start the new top-flight season on a positive note. Here are the player ratings for Borussia Dortmund:

Gregor Kobel - 7.5: Wasn't really challenged but showed up when it mattered; a clean sheet to start off the season
Joane Gadou - 7: Some lapses in concentration and a few unnecessary risks, but solid overall.
Waldemar Anton - 7.5: Once again a reliable figure in defense with three clearances and interceptions each while also making five recoveries.
Daniel Svensson - 8: Started as a centre-back to accommodate Beier and the Swede excelled; read the game brilliantly to make eight clearances and six recoveries.
Julian Ryerson - 7.5: A terrorizing figure who made use of all that space on the right; laid four crosses and completed 93% of his passes too.
Jobe Bellingham - 7.5: Dmonstrated his attacking edge with three key passes and crosses each.
Felix Nmecha - 6: Struggled to exert any control in midfield and came second best in duels.
Maximilian Beier - 7.5: Was handed a chance on the left and made the most of it with a stormer; assisted Konstantelias for their second.
Konstantelias Karetsas - 7.5: Fabulous first touches, intelligent runs and an aggressive attacking play; mustered six shots but couldn't find the back of the net although he teed up Guirassy for the opener.
Serhou Guirassy - 8: Opened his account for the season after just nine minutes into the game with a confident finish.
Giannis Konstentelias - 8: Marked his Bundesliga debut for the BVB with a goal but sustained an unfortunate injury after the break.
