Alexander Meyer has commented on the exit of Edin Terzic, admitting that he learned a lot from the former Borussia Dortmund head coach.

Edin Terzic parted ways with Borussia Dortmund last month, making the shock decision to resign just two weeks after leading the club in the UEFA Champions League final. The 41 year old's decision came as a big surprise to everyone, and Alexander Meyer has now had his say on the matter.

Alexander Meyer: I learned a lot from Edin Terzic

"I spoke with Edin on the phone and thanked him for the two years," Meyer said (via Ruhr Nachrichten). "He almost won the Bundesliga, almost won the Champions League final. I don't think he did much wrong. I simply thanked him because I was able to learn a lot, of course."

Meyer, who joined Borussia Dortmund from Jahn Regensburg in 2022, also gave his thoughts on newly appointed Borussia Dortmund head coach Nuri Sahin. The second-choice goalkeeper is looking forward to the new season under the former BVB midfielder.

"We've known Nuri for six months now. But it's always different when you're assistant coach or head coach. He's coming in with a lot of energy. I think he is very happy that he has now moved into this position and that the club has placed its trust in him."

Sahin celebrated his first game as Borussia Dortmund head coach on Friday with a 7-1 win over the DEW-21 team. Alexander Meyer was on the pitch in the first-half, before being replaced by Marcel Lotka.
