B-V-Briefing - A roundup of all things Borussia Dortmund
By Joseph Meyer
Fans should be relieved after Borussia Dortmund returned to winning ways this past weekend, with a 2-0 triumph over Union Berlin on the road. But the Black and Yellows' performance once again left a lot to be desired, and the match was far from pretty.
The game-plan set by Edin Terzic seemed tactically erratic, but BVB cruised to victory thanks to some incisive finishing and moments of individual brilliance.
Alexander Meyer deserves credit for his strong performance between the sicks, as he made a number of big saves and earned his clean sheet. Karim Adeyemi recently made his return from injury, and he showcased his talent on his return to the starting XI with a stunning goal, his first of the season in the Bundesliga.
In the dying minutes, Ian Maatsen displayed his skill with a steal and subsequent goal on the counter-attack. It was the Dutch full-back's first goal since signing on loan with Borussia Dortmund from Chelsea.
