Borussia Dortmund are hoping to welcome Serhou Guirassy and Yan Couto back in the squad for their Bundesliga clash against FC Heidenheim this Friday.
The Bundesliga makes its return this week, and a tricky test against league leaders Heidenheim awaits Borussia Dortmund this weekend. The Black and Yellows will hope for the returns of Yan Couto and Serhou Guirassy, with both players on the comeback trail following their recent injury struggles.
Yan Couto, Serhou Guirassy hoping to return to the Borussia Dortmund squad
According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Couto hasn't started training with the team yet. But there is still hope at Borussia Dortmund that he could be in the squad on Friday. The young right-back missed BVB's trip to Werder Bremen and Brazil's World Cup qualifiers due to a minor injury.
Also hoping to make the squad this Friday will be Serhou Guirassy. The striker missed pre-season and the start of the new campaign due to a knee injury that he suffered on international duty in June. But he finally started training with his new teammates before the international break, and could be in line for his long-awaited Borussia Dortmund debut this week.
Couto and Guirassy both joined Borussia Dortmund this summer. The former arrived on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy from Manchester City, while the latter made the move from VfB Stuttgart for a fee of around 18.5 million euros.
Borussia Dortmund have started their Bundesliga campaign with one win and one draw. Nuri Sahin's side have a number of crunch matches coming up, and will hope to start off strong as they go up against the high-flying Heidenheim on Friday.
