Marbella training camp and Bundesliga return: Borussia Dortmund's January schedule

A busy January awaits Borussia Dortmund, with the Marbella training camp set to be followed by the return of the Bundesliga.

The winter break will come to an end next week at Borussia Dortmund, as players return to training on January 2 to prepare for the start of the second half of the season. Edin Terzic's side will be desperate to turn things around after a disappointing hinrunde in the Bundesliga.

Borussia Dortmund are set to travel to Marbella in Spain for a warm-weather training camp that will begin on January 3. The Black and Yellows will play friendly matches against Dutch side AZ Alkmaar (January 6) and Belgian club Standard Liège (January 9) as part of the training camp, before returning to Dortmund.

The Bundesliga will make its return on January 12, with Borussia Dortmund's first game of 2024 scheduled to take place a day later. BVB will be away to relegation threatened SV Darmstadt 98 on January 13 (kick-off: 18:30 CET).

Another away game then awaits Borussia Dortmund as the rückrunde officially gets underway with a trip to FC Köln on January 20. BVB will then return to the Westfalenstadion for the first time in 2024 on January 28 as they take on VfL Bochum in what will be a Ruhr Derby clash.

Borussia Dortmund have won just seven of their 16 matches in the Bundesliga so far this season, and have also been eliminated from the DFB-Pokal. They are currently fifth in the Bundesliga standings, six points behind fourth placed RB Leipzig. BVB are set to face PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League round of 16.
