Borussia Dortmund loan watch: Gio Reyna makes Premier League debut
By Tushar Bahl
Gio Reyna made his English Premier League debut on Sunday, while fellow Borussia Dortmund loanees Soumaila Coulibaly and Tom Rothe missed out on action this past weekend due to injury and suspension respectively.
Having joined Nottingham Forest on loan towards the end of the January transfer window, Gio Reyna made his English Premier League debut on Sunday as he came off the bench against Bournemouth. While the 21 year old wasn't able to help his side find a late winner, he enjoyed a positive 18-minute cameo and showed glimpses of his quality in the final third.
Reyna will now hope to break into the Nottingham Forest starting XI and make more of an impact in the coming weeks. Nottingham Forest will be in action against Bristol City in the FA Cup on Wednesday, before taking on Newcastle United in the English Premier League this weekend.
Meanwhile, Soumaila Coulibaly is currently dealing with a leg injury and has missed Royal Antwerp's last five games as a result. The talented centre-back has made a total of 26 appearances for the Belgian side this season, including six in the UEFA Champions League.
Tom Rothe was also sidelined this past weekend due to a yellow card suspension as Holstein Kiel were held to a 1-1 draw by Magdeburg. The Bundesliga promotion hopefuls are currently third in the second division standings, one point behind Hamburger SV in second place. Rothe has two goals and six assists to his name in 21 appearances so far for Holstein Kiel.
