Jamie Gittens was the difference maker off the bench as Borussia Dortmund began their 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign with a 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Borussia Dortmund made a winning start to their Bundesliga season, earning a hard-fought 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt at the Westfalenstadion on Saturday evening. A second-half brace from substitute Jamie Gittens gave Nuri Sahin's side the three points.

The Black and Yellows showed a good account of themselves in their Bundesliga opener. But there were also a few lapses in concentration that are common at this early stage of the season. It is fair to say that Sahin's team is a work in progress, but there are many reasons for optimism, as the game showed.

Here are our player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from their 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Gregor Kobel (6/10)

Kobel put in a solid shift between the sticks and also looked confident with the ball at his feet. He wasn't tested as much as Eintracht Frankfurt would have liked, and will be delighted with his clean sheet on matchday one.
