Borussia Dortmund have submitted their opening bid for Manchester City right-back Yan Couto, who is valued at around 30 million euros.
Signing a new right-back is Borussia Dortmund's top priority, as revealed by CEO Lars Ricken earlier on Monday. The Black and Yellows are pressing on with their plans to sign Yan Couto, who is said to be their top target for the right-back position.
According to Sky Sport, Borussia Dortmund have submitted their first official bid for the 22 year old. He is valued at around 20 million euros by Borussia Dortmund, while Manchester City want around 30 million euros. Couto's current contract with Manchester City is set to expire at the end of the coming campaign.
The two clubs will hope to conclude the negotiations and reach an agreement on the transfer fee in the coming days. Borussia Dortmund already have an agreement in place on personal terms with Couto.
The Brazilian international is coming off an excellent season with Girona, and helped them qualify for the Champions League with ten assists and two goals in 39 appearances across all competitions. His performances also helped him earn his maiden call-up to the Brazil squad in October.
Borussia Dortmund will be keen to get the signing of Yan Couto over the line as Julian Ryerson is the only natural right-back in their squad at the moment.
It was also reported that BVB could look to sign a new left-back, but Ricken said earlier on Monday that he is backing Ramy Bensebaini and Tom Rothe to share the responsibility in that position.
