Matchday 23 was a successful one for Bayer Leverkusen as they continued their charge for the Bundesliga title with a 2-1 win over Mainz 05. Goals from Robert Andrich and Granit Xhaka helped Xabi Alonso's side continue their unbeaten run and maintain their eight-point lead at the top.
A brace from Harry Kane helped Bayern Munich keep their faint title hopes alive, as they beat RB Leipzig 2-1. The England captain scored a 91st minute winner for the reigning Bundesliga champions, after Benjamin Šeško had equalised for Leipzig.
Borussia Dortmund were left stunned by an incisive Hoffenheim side, as goals from Ilhas Bebou and Maximilian Beier (x2) handed them their first defeat of 2024. The Black and Yellows were made to pay for their sloppy and chaotic defending.
VfB Stuttgart were left frustrated as they could only manage a 1-1 draw at home to FC Köln. Enzo Millot's goal was canceled out by Eric Martel, as the Billy Goats picked up a vital point in their bid to avoid relegation.
Borussia Mönchengladbach hammered VfL Bochum 5-2 to move up to 12th place in the Bundesliga standings. The Foals had five different goalscorers, with Nathan Ngoumou, Julian Weigl, Rocco Reitz, Jordan and Franck Honorat all on target. Philipp Hofmann and Keven Schlotterbeck scored consolation goals for the Ruhr side.
FC Augsburg showed great resilience to come from behind and claim a 2-1 win over SC Freiburg. Goals from Felix Uduokhai and Arne Engels led the Bavarians to all three points after Vincenzo Grifo's first-half opener.
Eintracht Frankfurt left it late against Wolfsburg, with Omar Marmoush coming back to haunt his former club in the 92nd minute. The forward's 15th goal of the season rescued a 2-2 draw for the Eagles after goals from Maxence Lacroix and Kevin Behrens had given Wolfsburg the lead.
Union Berlin and Heidenheim played out a topsy-turvy 2-2 draw, with Jan-Niklas Beste securing a point for his side in the 71st minute. Nikola Dovedan had earlier given Heidenheim the lead, only for the Berliners to bounce back through goals from Robin Gosens and András Schäfer. Bottom club Darmstadt came from behind to earn a point against Werder Bremen.
