Edin Terzic feels that Borussia Dortmund can take some positives from their performance against VfB Stuttgart despite the disappointing feeling of the defeat.

Borussia Dortmund were beaten by VfB Stuttgart on Saturday, with Serhou Guirassy scoring the winning goal. The defeat saw the Black and Yellows slip to fifth place in the Bundesliga standings, behind RB Leipzig on goal difference.

With six games left in the Bundesliga this season, Borussia Dortmund's hopes of playing Champions League football next season hang in the balance.

It was Borussia Dortmund's third defeat of the season to Stuttgart, but Edin Terzic felt that their performance on Saturday was a significant improvement on the last two games between the two sides. He added that they deserved at least a point from the game, and admitted his disappointment at the result.

"The atmosphere was outstanding, the whole stadium pushed us forward. It's a disappointing feeling that we lost this game. We played a decent game and put in a lot of effort. We put on a much better performance than in the other two games against Stuttgart and deserved to get at least a point."

"We don't have long to dwell on our disappointment. Because the next important task awaits us on Wednesday. If we carry on like this, we'll pick up plenty more points this season."

Borussia Dortmund certainly don't have too long to dwell on the result of the Stuttgart game, with the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal against Atletico Madrid on the horizon. The tie offers BVB with the opportunity to make the Champions League semifinals for the first time since 2013.
