Edin Terzic has lamented the high workload in football after Gregor Kobel picked up another muscular injury last weekend.

Gregor Kobel is undoubtedly one of the best goalkeepers in the Bundesliga, and has been one of Borussia Dortmund's top performers since his move from VfB Stuttgart in 2021. But he has also been forced to miss a number of matches due to various muscular injuries.

When asked about Kobel being prone to injuries, Edin Terzic was quick to say that the Switzerland international takes good care of his body. The BVB head coach added that injuries are a big issue in football in general due to the high workload on the players.

"We look closely at every injury and carry out medical checks. With Gregor they have always been short periods of absence, but they have happened too often. We try to learn from all our experiences and support him in every way possible. He's a very professional player and takes good care of his body. It's not just an issue at BVB, but in football in general: it's not easy to keep playing through pain due to the high workload."

Gregor Kobel picked up a muscular injury last weekend during Borussia Dortmund's match against Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga. The 26 year old managed to play through the pain in that game, but the injury flared up again during the pre-match warm-up ahead of the Champions League round of 16 first leg against PSV Eindhoven earlier this week.

Kobel will now be forced to miss BVB's home game against TSG Hoffenheim on Sunday, and is also a doubt for the trip to Union Berlin next weekend.
