Edin Terzic is hopeful that Karim Adeyemi's goal against Union Berlin is a sign of things to come after the forward opened his Bundesliga account for this season on Saturday.

Things have certainly not gone according to plan for Karim Adeyemi so far this season. Having won the Bundesliga Rookie of the Year award last season, the talented forward has struggled for form and injuries in recent months.

Adeyemi celebrated his return to the starting XI with a well taken goal against Union Berlin on Saturday. The goal - the 22 year old's first in the Bundesliga this season - led Borussia Dortmund to a 2-0 win in the German capital.

Edin Terzic hailed Adeyemi's impact during his post-match press conference, and added that the Germany international can use his goal as a springboard for a strong conclusion to the season.

"Karim was the mirror image of the team in the first half," Terzic said. "He found it difficult to get into the game. The goal shows his talent. It was his first game from the start after a very long time. It's hard to believe that it was only his first Bundesliga goal of the season when you consider his quality. He can use this goal as a kick-start."

Karim Adeyemi has made 20 appearances for Borussia Dortmund so far this season, and has three goals and two assists to his name. He has shown glimpses of his quality in the final third, but those moments have been few and far in between. Adeyemi made the most of his opportunity in Donyell Malen's absence on Saturday, and will now hope for more playing time in the coming matches.
