Edin Terzic laments unnecessary ball losses as uncertainty grows at Borussia Dortmund following DFB-Pokal exit

Edin Terzic was left frustrated with Borussia Dortmund's unnecessary ball losses as they fell to a 2-0 defeat to VfB Stuttgart on Sunday.
For the second time in less than a month, Borussia Dortmund were thoroughly outplayed by a team that was nearly relegated from the Bundesliga last season. This time, they were sent packing from the DFB-Pokal, with goals from Serhou Guirassy and Silas securing a comfortable 2-0 win for Stuttgart.
The Black and Yellows were too passive and timid over the course of the 90 minutes, as their worrying trend of results continued. Edin Terzic admitted after the game that it was a well deserved defeat for his side, and blamed the unnecessary ball losses in the build-up play for the result.
In an interview with Sky Sport after the game, the BVB head coach said: "We had so many unnecessary ball losses in build-up and kept giving the opposition the opportunity to create chances and it simply wasn't good enough."
"When you see how many unnecessary ball losses we had, how imprecise we were in our decision-making and how many balls we gave away, then the insecurity grows. That's what happened and you can't let that happen at this level if you want to progress to the next round."
Borussia Dortmund struggled to find their rhythm against Stuttgart and were outplayed from the first whistle to the last. And fans will hope to see a much improved performance on Saturday, when BVB go up against their former head coach Marco Rose and RB Leipzig in what will be another massive game in the Bundesliga.
