Borussia Dortmund will hope to get the first leg advantage over Atletico Madrid when the two sides collide at the Metropolitano Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The UEFA Champions League quarterfinals are here, and Borussia Dortmund are set to lock horns with Atletico Madrid. Going up against an experienced Atletico side with plenty of know-how will present a unique challenge for the Black and Yellows, who will be looking to make the semifinals of the Champions League for the first time since 2013.

Borussia Dortmund will be without Donyell Malen for the first leg, with the Dutch forward dealing with a thigh injury. Ramy Bensebaini is also unavailable, but the rest of the squad has made the trip to Spain. Here we take a look at how Borussia Dortmund could line up for the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal against Atletico Madrid.

Gregor Kobel will start in goal for Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, looking to continue his strong run of form in the UEFA Champions League.

Mats Hummels and Nico Schlotterbeck are set to continue their blossoming partnership at centre-back. They will have their task cut out against Atletico Madrid's strike duo of Antoine Griezmann and Alvaro Morata.

Julian Ryerson will start at right-back, with Ian Maatsen set to feature on the opposite flank. Both full-backs have been largely solid for Borussia Dortmund in recent weeks, and will be crucial in both defence and attack against Atletico Madrid.
