Signing a new right-back will be high on Borussia Dortmund's list of priorities for this summer, with Julian Ryerson the only natural option in that role at the club. The Norwegian international has cemented himself as BVB's first-choice right-back with his excellent defensive performances, especially in the Champions League.

At the age of 26, Ryerson is just hitting his prime, which should allow Borussia Dortmund to target a younger player who has high potential to become elite in the future. Here we discuss four players the Black and Yellows should look to target this summer.

Elias Jelert

Elias Jelert is about to turn 21 and has already played Champions league knockout minutes, impressing against several top sides. The Dane is a two-footed full-back and is capable of playing on both flanks. Jelert's sample size is still small, but he has shown excellent skills in ball retention and dribbling. His 79% pass accuracy is above average despite playing against sides with a much higher budget in the Champions League. He has also maintained an impressive 1.23 take-ons completed.

This shows Jelert is ready for the physical step up to a top league. Jelert should be available for around 10-15 million euros this summer, a bargain fee in the current climate of the transfer window.

I wrote about Jelert last season as seen here, and while he hasn't made the step up to a bigger club yet, he has only improved since. There is no doubt that another club will come calling soon, and Dortmund will not want to miss out on a young talent who is a versatile attacker and a solid defender.
