Just days after scoring his first senior goal for Borussia Dortmund, Julien Duranville has received his maiden call-up to the Belgium national team.

Julien Duranville could be set to make his senior debut for the Belgium national team. The highly rated winger has been called up by Belgium head coach Domenico Tedesco for their upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Israel and France.

Julien Duranville recently scored his first senior goal for Borussia Dortmund

Regarded as one of the most promising young forwards in the world, Duranville has made quite the impact in his four competitive appearances for the Borussia Dortmund first-team. The 18 year old recently scored his first senior goal for the club, in the DFB-Pokal first round tie against Phönix Lübeck. And now he has been rewarded with a call-up to the Belgium squad.

Duranville joined Borussia Dortmund from Anderlecht in January 2023 but was sidelined with injuries for the majority of his first 18 months at the club. He is fully fit now, though, and could be set for a breakout campaign in the Bundesliga.

Former Anderlecht and current Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany once said that Duranville has the potential to become a contender for the Ballon d'Or award in the future. And the winger will hope to showcase his quality for the Belgium national team over the next two weeks.

Ex-Borussia Dortmund right-back Thomas Muenier (now at LOSC Lille) has also been included in the latest Belgium squad. Other Bundesliga players in the Belgium roster include Loïs Openda and Arthur Vermeeren (RB Leipzig).
