Hoffenheim have given an update on the status of Maximilian Beier, who is Borussia Dortmund's top target for the striker position.

It is no secret that Borussia Dortmund want to bolster their attack with the signing of Maximilian Beier. And TSG Hoffenheim have now confirmed that they are in concrete talks with another club over the talented striker's sale. As a result, Beier was left out of the Hoffenheim squad for their pre-season friendly against Fulham on Saturday.

"As already known, TSG Hoffenheim are in concrete negotiations about a transfer and have therefore decided not to nominate Maximilian Beier for the matchday squad today," Hoffenheim said in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).

Borussia Dortmund have already agreed to personal terms with Maximilian Beier

Borussia Dortmund are willing to pay around 25 million euros to sign Beier, while BILD claim that Hoffenheim want around 35 million euros plus 15 million euros in performance related bonuses. Despite that, the transfer is expected to go through, according to the tabloid.

Beier is keen on a move to Borussia Dortmund, and has already reached an agreement on personal terms with the club. The likes of Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Aston Villa have also been linked with the 21 year old, but the Black and Yellows are primed to win the race for his siganture.

Capable of playing in the number nine role, as a winger, and as a second striker, Maximilian Beier could offer a big boost to the Borussia Dortmund attack. The club's aim is for him to form an attacking partnership with Serhou Guirassy.
