Borussia Dortmund are pressing on with their plans to sign Maximilian Beier from TSG Hoffenheim, and already have an agreement in place with the Bayer Leverkusen and Liverpool target.

Maximilian Beier is Borussia Dortmund's top transfer target to replace Niclas Füllkrug, who completed his move to West Ham United earlier this week. The 21 year old is keen to join the Black and Yellows, and Sky Sport claim that a verbal agreement has now been reached between the club and player on personal terms.

The two clubs are now in talks, with Borussia Dortmund ready to pay around 25 million euros. Hoffenheim want a higher transfer fee, and an agreement is expected to be reached in time for the start of the Bundesliga season.

Borussia Dortmund hoping to beat out competition from several clubs to sign Maximilian Beier

Beier has also been linked with the likes of LIverpool, Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Bayer Leverkusen in recent months. But the Germany international wants to join Borussia Dortmund, and has been offered a five-year contract by the club.

After a breakthrough season in the Bundesliga, Beier is ready to take the next step in his development. The forward scored 16 goals and assisted a further three for Hoffenheim last season, and also netted a brace against BVB at the Westfalenstadion.

Primarily a striker, Beier is also capable of playing out wide and in the number ten role. And Borussia Dortmund fans are relishing the prospect of him partnering with Serhou Guirassy in attack this season. The BVB bosses still have work to do in order to get the signing over the line. But everything points to Beier playing BVB next season.
