Sebastian Kehl is backing Serhou Guirassy to start scoring goals for Borussia Dortmund soon, after his impactful performance on debut.

Serhou Guirassy made his Borussia Dortmund debut on Friday evening as he played from the start in the Bundesliga clash against FC Heidenheim. The striker showed a good account of himself, linked up well with his teammates, held the ball up well, and also got stuck in. He wasn't able to find the back of the net, but Sebastian Kehl is confident that will change soon.

Sebastian Kehl pleased with Serhou Guirassy's Borussia Dortmund debut

"He brought us a great deal with his presence, the number of balls he held up, how often he was fouled and how well he played. He didn't even play in a friendly match, he came straight from the last few weeks of his rehab phase. It won't be long before he starts scoring."

Borussia Dortmund claimed a 4-2 win over FC Heidenheim on Friday, with Karim Adeyemi leading the way by scoring a brace. Donyell Malen and Emre Can were also on target for the Black and Yellows as they made it four games unbeaten to start the season.

Guirassy showed glimpses of his quality on his Borussia Dortmund debut, and will hope to build on it in the coming weeks. The 28 year old scored 30 goals in 30 appearances for VfB Stuttgart last season, which prompted BVB to sign him. But a knee injury suffered on international duty in June saw him spend three months on the sidelines.

Now fully fit again, Serhou Guirassy is ready to make an impact for Borussia Dortmund. "I'm happy to have celebrated my comeback. It was my first game, so of course we still have to get to know each other better. But it went quite well. It's also clear that I'm not yet at 100 percent," the striker said after the game (via Ruhr Nachrichten).
