Juventus take the lead over Chelsea in race for Borussia Dortmund forward
By Tushar Bahl
Juventus and Chelsea are tussling for the signature of Karim Adeyemi, and the Italian giants have now seemingly made direct contact with the camp of the Borussia Dortmund forward.
The future of Karim Adeyemi remains uncertain despite Borussia Dortmund's wish to keep him at the club beyond the summer transfer window. Chelsea are interested in signing the 22 year old, but it appears that Juventus are leading the race for his signature at the moment.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus initiated direct contact with Adeyemi's representatives on Wednesday. Juventus have presented their contract proposal to Adeyemi, with manager Thiago Motta keen to sign the versatile forward this summer. There have been no talks with Borussia Dortmund as of this writing, but that could change in the coming weeks.
What is Borussia Dortmund's stance on Karim Adeyemi transfer?
BVB CEO for sport Lars Ricken made it clear recently that they are not planning to part ways with Adeyemi this summer. But speculation about his future has been rife in recent months, with reports claiming that a transfer offer in the region of 40-50 million euros could tempt the Black and Yellows into selling.
Adeyemi joined Borussia Dortmund from RB Salzburg in 2022, and his time in Germany has been a mixed bag so far. In 66 appearances for BVB, Adeyemi has scored 14 goals and assisted a further eight. He won the Bundesliga Rookie of the Year award during his debut season with Borussia Dortmund.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Karim Adeyemi, who has three years left on his current contract with Borussia Dortmund.
