Manchester United boss relays “good news” about Jadon Sancho at Borussia Dortmund
By Kian Long
Borussia Dortmund have an incredible opportunity to finish the season in the best possible way, by progressing to the UEFA Champions League final. Of course, they have strong competition as alongside themselves, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are all battling for the illusive silverware.
One player who has been key to Borussia Dortmund in 2024, and could prove to be pivotal in the Champions League is Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho. Of course, the Englishman formerly played for Dortmund as an exciting prodigy but a falling out with manager Erik ten Hag meant that he would return to Dortmund on loan, with the hopes of revitalising his career.
He's certainly done nothing to tarnish his career whilst on his return to the Bundesliga. He has scored two goals and provided one assist since the turn of 2024, including an important Champions League goal in the knockout stage against PSV.
It remains to be seen what happens at the end of Sancho's loan spell. Of course, Borussia Dortmund could pursue a permanent move to bring him back but unfortunately, the chances of this seem slim. After all, Dortmund are already tipped to break their transfer record to sign fellow Premier League loanee Ian Maatsen from Chelsea.
So, is there a future for Jadon Sancho at his parent club Manchester United?
Manchester United boss relays “good news” about Jadon Sancho at Borussia Dortmund
Well, current boss Erik ten Hag who famously rowed with Jadon Sancho at the start of the season has spoken about his player's current triumph while playing abroad. He praised the "good news" of Sancho playing well at Dortmund and helping them out in their Champions League quest.
In his own words (via 90min), Erik ten Hag said: "It was a fantastic game - Dortmund against Atletico Madrid. Great performance from Dortmund and for Jadon it's good news, he made his contribution to the result for Dortmund. Of course, I follow international football and follow the players on loan at other clubs."
Hopefully, Sancho can return to Manchester United as a fresh player and he can put his differences aside with the club. Besides, Erik ten Hag is not the most popular figure at Manchester United currently and there is even talk of former BVB boss Thomas Tuchel taking on the reigns there, so Sancho could be in for a much more welcome return to his club.
Where do you think Jadon Sancho will play next season?
