Marcel Sabitzer: I feel right at home at Borussia Dortmund
Marcel Sabitzer has stated that he feels proud to be a part of Borussia Dortmund, after scoring the winner in their Champions League quarterfinal against Atletico Madrid.
Arguably Borussia Dortmund's most consistent player since the turn of the year, Marcel Sabitzer is in the form of his life at the moment. The Austrian international scored a match-winning brace against Borussia Mönchengladbach this past weekend, and followed that up with another excellent performance against Atletico Madrid.
Sabitzer set up two of BVB's opening three goals in the second leg against Atletico Madrid, and then scored the goal that clinched the tie. The 30 year old was quick to praise his teams' mentality after the game. "We've had to put up with a lot this season and had a few setbacks. We know we have the quality, we just have to show it regularly. [Against Atletico Madrid] we showed passion, mentality and also our quality football on the pitch. I get goosebumps when I think about it."
Sabitzer added that he has felt comfortable at Borussia Dortmund since day one, and is determined to repay the trust of those in charge. "I've felt very comfortable here since day one and I feel the confidence is there. I'm getting a lot of playing time and of course I want to repay that. Things have been going very well for me personally in recent weeks and I want to keep it up. I'm in the right place and I'm very proud to be part of the BVB family," Sabitzer told Sky Sport Austria.
Marcel Sabitzer was reduced to a bit-part role during his two seasons with Bayern Munich, but managed to find his groove again on loan at Manchester United last season. He moved to Borussia Dortmund last summer, and has now established himself as one of the first names on the team-sheet.
